in ms access, we perform all operations manually such as inserting a field, deleting a column, etc. whereas in sql, all of these are performed through queries. although both are used for maintaining databases. the queries that we use to write in sql become necessary especially when we want to connect our application program through a database. suppose you want to connect a table made in msaccess with java programming, then you need sql queries in addition to accomplish this.
