Dear Meena, VLSI/Embedded is such a field where you should only go if you have a strong knowledge and also interest in this field. Bcoz of strong competition and less recruitment you have to be strong enough in your core field. For which you can join a professional institute to gain some industry standrad experience but they cant give you 100% guarantee for a job. You have to get a job yourself on your skills. So if you are determind enough then only go for it. Also there is a very large opening projected in this domain in near future, so dont be panic for the future of the field. Best of Luck.
Hi Meena,
Embedded and VLSI are having a great scope even now also. You can find more embedded jobs than vlsi. Lot of IT companies also have started embedded domain. Embeded is a vast domain. It can be on networking, telecom, automotives and in lot of product based companies. Problem is that. .getting into this company is little difficult, since competition is quite high. Both electronics or computer science engineer can opt for this. Doing an extra course won't assure a job, but it is sure that you will atleast get some industrial standards followed in industries.
Best of luck
