Hi Pankaj,
Don't lose hope early. You have just passed out of college. To keep you driving, you need patience and optimism. When you speak of Embedded Systems, what part are you specifically referring to? There is an emulation part that interfaces with hardware, there is a driver development and there is system-level programming as well, which encompasses RTOS, Assembly C and so on. Also, what is currently the trend setter is the emergence of ARM architecture programming, much at the system level. Most of today's cellular phones use ARM cores. The field is prospective. But to admit, from the inputs that I've received the jobs in this domain are comparatively less. I may be wrong. You have mentioned that you've received training. What was this about? If the conditions around you are compelling you to find a job, then you can strike a balance between choice and compulsion, by learning good programming. The programming skills help you to get you a lot of jobs. You won't feel the difference over here on job. There are some tests that honor your programming skills. They might help your job search. At the end of the day, don't worry and work steady.

Its a very bright field except for very limited access to the core jobs being available. You will have to make a choose Core or Technical or Management job ?
