Hi Ram,
Nice that you are clear in your interests. Concentrate on the project and try to secure a good grade. First, consult your placement officer on how he/she can help you. Later, make a list of domains, companies, required skills. For instance, if you are interested in RTL design-then Intel, ARM, Nvidia, AMD, SanDisk, Rambus, Cisco, Marvel, TI etc have workflows needing RTL design professionals. Your next task will be to prepare a solid, genuine profile of yours and apply through proper channels-can be direct company website, job portals like Naukri or through employee referrals-your friends or alumni in such companies who can help you. Once you get an interview invite, prepare and perform well.
Search for a good institute for a placement oriented course in your region, otherwise best place to search is bangalore, hyderabad or pune.
Many VLSI core jobs lie in the area of physical design, FE/BE design, digital design, Verification etc. Getting a job in FE/Verification is easier than BE/physical. Choice is your to decide the field. For verification you have to be strong in programming like verilog, system verilog, UVM, OVM, VVM etc. For physical design job you need to be strong in core VLSI subjects and need to know the design tools operation. All the Best
