I completed MBA in Finance this JUNE(2013), but have landed up in a sales job, which I am not liking. I want to make a shift to ANALYTICS. Please help me how I can effectively do that. I don't wan't to continue with the sales profile, as that would make the shift difficult for me later.
Hi Chandan,
I would like to share my view as below.
1) Dont panic. Ample opportunity exist in sales profile. This can give you the power to understand people. And most importantly no one can grow in career like sales and marketing.
2) Start giving interview by applying for Analytics profiles. Naukri.com is a good portal in this matter. For me it worked.
3) You may pursue a course like SAS as per your suitable time and manner. That can expedite the fulfillment of your desire.
4) Improve yourself technically as far as possible. Learn ms excel as much as possible.
Hi Chandan,
Since you have landed up in a Sales profile, look at the prospects in your profile. I understand that you are looking for a switch to Analytics but looking at the current options also will give you a better perspective. Try looking up people in the Analytics industry and talking to them about what are the requirements for their profile. Get contacts through your network of acquaintances and friends. This will help get clarity in roles in the Analytics domain and possible openings as well. Also look at companies in the industry and try applying online though I would recommend going through people in the company. This might yield results in getting though an Analytics profile
