Hi Dilip,
Don't let confusion to seep in. There's no need to force yourself to do something that you don't like. Your company shouldn't have changed the role offered to you. Never mind. Do have any plans for higher education? If your financials and interest support you, take a break from your job and pursue higher education in a field that promises growth and stability. Embedded system design is now redefined, thanks to ARM architecture. There are multiple growth opportunities here. Scout for jobs in this field. To be frank, it might be a challenge to find a different role, but give it a try. There are some startup firms which work on integration: Android based SoCs and systems. They may consider your experience. For instance, Smartplay has such openings.

I'm sure you will have some interests. They may not be limited to embedded systems only. Look for companies which specialize on such domains. Post your profile in job portals like Naukri and search for jobs in those domains. You will find your choice in due course of time.

All the best!

Abhiram.S.R Hi Dilip,
With higher studies out of question, your option is to look for a compatible job. Fine tune your skills. I mentioned about ARM system architecture. Do similar research on other skills/knowledge as well. Consult your HR on exploring other interesting fields, if any, withing the company.
