dear rehman u focus only core subjects of ur field and morever focus on one subject in which u have much intrest b'coz in interview u will be given a chance of ur favourite subject selection so that will be ur advantage and in the mean time u also do some certificate courses related to ur field such as auto cadd, pro er etc.it will be good for u

I can understand your situation, as sadly this is the case with most of the Indian graduates.
To apply offline , you must strengthen the core subjects of your branch. That should be your top most priority. Second, brush up your basic aptitude , both quantative and logical as most likely you would have to face an aptitude test in offline procedures. Third, work on your communication skills . Last but not the least, try doing your final year project on your own with a team of your friends and gain some practical knowledge of your branch. That should do well to separate you from the average crowd.
Another approach you can try is to prepare for PSU entrance jobs in companies like NTPC, BHEL , HUL etc. which would again test you on your conceptual knowledge, aptitude and communication. So that's the basic preparation you can't afford to miss!
