It is good to start your M.Tech where your can get enough time to prepare for CIVIL SERVICES as a back up time, as well as you also complete your Masters, and it is more beneficial for you to not waste your time, because for Civil Services you have to give at least one year full of preparation.
BEST OF LUCK :)

Dear Mallikarjun,

Usually in multinational companies a production engineer controls a manufacturing department etc. That means mechanical engineers comes under a production engineer. Please don't misunderstand that a mechanical engineer is below a production engineer. It is just that a production engineer with high grade pay always comes top (in the management area). In my view point a company cannot run smoothly without the help of production engineers because these engineers deal with everything starting from procurement of raw materials to the processes involved till it reach the market.

As you've mentioned in your query that you're in a state of confusion whether to go for M.Tech/ CSAT I'm going to suggest you to go for M.Tech in a reputed institute else join CSAT Coaching. As a backup, I suggest you to appear for GATE/NET/public enterprise recruitments. all d best..:)

if you really interest in civil services your choice is good..... if you are facing any kind of problems , first get into a small job to over come those problems, then concentrate on your dream , the plans will come automatically Once you enter into the field, By birth no one know how to live , how to breath , how to run, how to speak , it come automatically once you are in the right plan and place...............

hello Mallikarjun..... Its good to know about your dream. If you are really serious about civils then you better start preparing for it. But, what my suggestion is that, before jumping directly into civils, you must seek a job, like in SSC, which is also a civil services job. Coz, sometimes civil services preparation may turn out to be frustrating. I don't mean to disappoint you. But just try to see the pros n cons of my advice. there is both head n tail of a coin. So, think, n hen proceed. Good luck.

since u r a fresher u have to go for further studies sure shot.... so select those field in which u feel better because u have to work hard in both the fields ... and from my side go for M.tech its good for you since you are from I&p;Branch. If you passed the GATE exam there is a great opportunity to join many companies who required Industrial & Production Engginner.
