Hi , I am working as a recruiter for past 5 yrs. My age is 31. I always have a feel this work is not my cup of tea. I am much interested in Jewellery designing. But my age is barred to join in collage. I can do some diploma courses. But the job opportunity for that is very less. Give me suggestion ?

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
I have always believed and still continue to do so, that for education there is no age restriction. People completing their 10th standard at the age of 60+ make to the headlines, since it is seen as an achievement-which it is! So, age of 31 is in no way, according to me a constraint. Do you have any financial and personal constraints? If not, then your inclination to jewellery designing becomes more a passionate trial. If there are personal issues and it is mandatory for you to find a job after, doing a full fledged coursework in jewellery designing may be stressful and risky. Nonetheless, you need not suppress your desire-since it is a vibrant one. Manage your commitments through your job, and make jewellery design your hobby-a commercial one, if you want. In India, there are colleges and tutorials in every discipline and for every case-part time ones, expensive, popular and all sorts. There can be online courses as well-a photoshop tutorial on lightening a necklace. Such interests can propel you to be an entrepreneur. You can answer this question best.

All the best!

Abhiram.S.R Bhuvaneshwari, your current job is taking care of the first part-meeting your financial requirements. Many fashion institutes have jewellery design integrated. For instance, IIFT; I've heard has apparel and jewellery design courses. Try to search in Google. The wealth of information will be enormous

Abhiram.S.R If you don't have enough experience, it will be better to do some coursework-on weekends, for instance. Later, you will get a chance to meet esteemed, experienced people who will guide you. Many alumni, fashion brands have campus tie-ups. Google and you will gather the required information.
