My placement interview experience at ITC Infotech
In my ITC interview experience, I faced 3 rounds. However, my friends who got selected and landed this offer of a Sales Trainee at ITC faced 4 rounds. I missed the last and final round by a fluke. I want you to learn from my mistakes and prepare better.
First round at ITC – Aptitude test
ITC HR folk conducted a written online exam. In this round, we answered questions from various domains like sales, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness.
Second round at ITC – Personal Interview 1
In this face to face interview round, the HR of ITC Vizag branch asked me questions like ‘Tell me about yourself‘, ‘Why should we hire you?’, ‘Describe yourself‘, ‘What are your hobbies‘, ‘What is teamwork‘, ‘What makes you angry‘, ‘Why do you want to join ITC?‘, ‘Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?‘ so on and so forth.
Third round at ITC – Personal Interview 2
This was another face to face interview with the ASM of ITC in their Vizag branch. He was inquisitive about my work experience, industry understanding and comfort level with the work culture of ITC. He particularly wanted to know how I handle stress and what projects I had worked on. Being a fresher, I did not have any robust industry knowledge to share. However, I made it a point to share everything about my internships, training and graduation project work. At the end of this round, I got to know that I had not been selected. Hence, I could not attend the final round.
Final round at ITC – GD round
I got to know from my friends that it was a group discussion round on current affairs for some of them and a GD round on social issue topics for some others. In the course of the group discussion, the panelists were mainly noting and making participants on the basis of communication and IQ level. It was also a sort of behavioral round where the confidence level of participants was getting tested. The panelists basically wanted everyone to participate in the discussion turn-wise as well as ask as many questions as possible to each other. This was a way of checking their personality. My friends also shared with me that during the salary negotiation process, they tried to sound as energetic as possible.
