I applied for my ICICI Bank career opportunity through my college’s placement cell. It was a placement interview test conducted off campus at ICICI Banks’ own office. As a fresher, I lacked expertise and experience, yet my preparation and knowledge ensured that I could make it through. Below is a summary of my complete interview experience for the position of a Deputy Manager at ICICI Bank. I got selected for the position and will be joining soon.

Details of my ICICI Bank Career Test
My ICICI Bank interview was like any other campus placement test. I was extremely nervous about my interview as it was my first and I did not have any exposure or experience about placement interviews. I faced two rounds in total and sailed through them easily.
Technical Interview at ICICI Bank Placement Test
The first was a technical interview and the other was a personal interview. The technical round was super easy as my interview panel asked me basic questions which were conceptual. Topics covered ranged through management and sales topics.
Questions asked in ICICI Bank technical round
- What is the fixing risk on a MIFOR curve?
- Some questions around my personal SIP.
- Why are you changing your from Engineering to Banking?
- Talk about your internship experiences in detail.
- What do you know about Sox Compliance?
- Situation-based questions to test decision making capacity.
HR Interview at ICICI Bank Placement Test
However, the questions I faced in my personal interview round or HR interview round were very tough. The interviewer was trying to judge my communication skills as well as assessing my confidence levels. At a certain point, I felt they were conducting a hidden personality test as well.
Questions asked in ICICI Bank HR round
- Tell me about yourself
- Introduce yourself
- Walk me through your CV.
- What is your family background? Please describe briefly.
- Tell me about your project work.
- Why do you want to work for ICICI Bank?
- What do you know about ICICI Bank and how is it different from other private sector banks in India?
- Tell me all about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Describe a situation where you applied both your strengths and weaknesses optimally?
- What are your personal and professional short term goals?
I would like to suggest that whenever you face an ICICI Bank interview or any other placement test, kindly do your groundwork before hand. Do a thorough research about the company and also study as much as possible about the company. Only then you will feel that you have a pretty spontaneous interview.
